Carl Maples I play Old songs,
I play original New songs,
I play Borrowed songs &
add a touch of Blues to almost every song.
Music has been a passion of mine as long as I can remember. My Father was always picking up different instruments and bringing them home, so there was plenty of opportunity to learn to play. For years my parents and their friends would gather on Saturday night and make music long after all us kids fell asleep. As my talents developed, I began to play in talent shows and joined a few cover bands. I always enjoyed writing most of all. Music was my life.
The same year I graduated High School, I married my high school sweet heart. Within the next few years, my priorities were redirected. My love for music and my ambition to pursue it, were dwarfed in comparison to the passion I had for my young bride and our two children. The most wonderful years of my life were those of my wife Cindy and I spent raising our family. The love between she and I has continued to flourish and together we’ve watched our children pursue higher educations, begin careers, marry and leave our nest.
In this new chapter of our life, music has begun to fill the void left by our children’s independence. I never stopped writing music, inspired by my family and/or events affecting them. With the support of my wife, I have begun performing my music at local venues. As any musician, I want my material to be heard by the masses.
